I worked with Annie* over a period of about 8 months to help her address the challenges of a team that had expanded due to additional funding and project-based work.

She leads a team of environment and landscape experts spread across the south west. They work on a variety of projects, covering a wide range of disciplines and often in partnership with other bodies.
Annie has to negotiate some challenging relationships which can detract from her leadership of the team.

Annie was feeling overwhelmed by the role. She had clear ambitions and goals for her team and her role but was struggling to find the time and headspace to plan effectively and identify priorities. She had recently finished developing a 5-year business plan, and was anxious to ensure that it was adopted and embedded in everyday activity and reporting.

Through monthly coaching and mentoring sessions, we were able to identify dedicated planning and thinking time, address challenging relationships and develop her own leadership style.

From our discussions, she implemented an action plan to ensure successful delivery of the business plan and effective reporting.

Each session was different, focused on the issues Annie was facing at the time and using them as a basis for moving her along towards her chosen goals.

The sessions gave her more control over her role and her team, clearer direction and increased confidence. She valued the opportunity to prioritise the time and space to consider and plan for strategic development.

It was so rewarding to see Annie grow through out sessions and to receive feedback on the success of interventions we had discussed.
